Hey Dad, have you ever thought about that, why theology is important for dads? Most haven’t. A theology is something that everyone has, few people realize it, and even fewer realize how it effects the rest of their life.
Theology:
- The study of religious faith, practice and experience: the study of God and God’s relation to the world.
- A system of religious beliefs or ideas
Theology has more to do with what you think or believe about God. Theology includes what you believe about how he relates to the world. Your theology effects how you interact with the world. Your theology effects what you teach your kids, the converstations you have with them, and with your wife and your friends. Your theology effects what gets you up the morning. Your theology effects why and how you work.
Your theology effects every area of your life. It truly does. What you believe about God effects what you believe about yourself, and how you are to move about in this world. And if there are flaws in your theology, may very well negatively effect your life. They don’t have to, but they often do.
That being said, there are many aspects of theology that are still up for debate. So while we should always be striving to have correct theology, we must also free ourselves from the burden of having perfect theology. Though our God is perfect, we are not. And we cannot believe perfectly about Him in this life.
So I encourage you to follow me as I study theology, and dive into various topics (including some controversial ones) with the goal of knowing Him better, and positively effecting the world.
If you have topics or questions you’d like discussed, I’d love if you’d leave them in the comment section below. Thanks, and God bless.
